Saturday night/Sunday morning of 30/31 January here coincided with torrential rain and an earthquake ( 3.6 Richter scale, north of Cooma, UTC 1739 30 Jan).
Related? Not if you subscribe to the RP, or ruling paradigm.
Probably if you have a tendency to scepticism and thereby possess an open mind.
My interpretation for this torrential downpour (I heard 150+ mm being reported) is that it was a massive dumping of electric positive charge via rain, and probably linked with the cyclone off NW Australia at about the same time.
I suspect the Earth experienced a surge in the solar wind.
Update: Australia experienced 3 minor earthquakes – East of Kiama NSW Meckering in WA and the one mentioned above. Far, far away from subduction zones though the mainstream explanation will attribute these earthquakes to stress release of tectonic plates.
But the coincidence of the cyclone and torrential rains both here at Bega and in the Pilbara cannot be simply dismissed.
