Commandments and all that

The well known Judeo-Christian first commandment:

“I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me”.

Seems totalitarian to me.

More like: “I scratched your back, now you scratch my back.”

I am still surprised they left the “no other gods before me” in the last update. Wasn’t he supposed to be the only god in existence?

    • I don’t know – it’s not a topic I know much about, especially if you interpret religion as the old way of doing politics – the setting up of an unimpeachable authority to justify the actions of the ruling class – and then nothing in the ancient sources becomes believable. Mind you if Julian Janes is right, then the historical record written before humans developed an ego could be interpreted and accepted more easily than later accounts. Again not an area I have any in depth knowledge of.

(You can delete this post after reading so as not to annoy the true believers)

Lol! that was meant to be a sarcastic comment. (Canadians are known for their robust senses of humor 🙂

Your are quite correct in your assumptions about religion… I think Denis Diderot — ‘Men will never be free until the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest.’ is all one needs to know although bankers and lawyers could also easily be thrown into the mix lol!

I took the time to trace these religions all the way from their proto-Sumerian roots to today and can attest that everything from the Sumerian Celestial God An to Enki, Enlil, and Babylonian Marduk, Egyptian Ra, Isis, Horus, Canaanite El, Baal, Jewish Jahweh, Jesus, Greek and Roman Gods right down to the creation of the Roman Catholic (Catholic=Universal Pagan) Church under Constantine the Great (who was actually a sun god worshiper) is one continual line. Civilizations collapsed from time to time but the same religion scam lived on.

Take Jesus for instance… a member of the lineage of the family of David (a royal)… traces the covenant back to Jacob, Isaac and Abraham (as does Islam) who came from Ur in Mesopotamia which at the time was the Chaldean religious capital because Abraham was a priest seeking a new franchise in Canaan)

        Acts 7:2-3King James Version (KJV)

2 And he said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken; The God of glory appeared unto our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran,

3 And said unto him, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and come into the land which I shall shew thee.

And remember baby Jesus was presented gifts and annointed by the 3 Magi (Kings, wise men, Priests) from the Orient (East, Mesopotamia) conferring his status as the “Son of God”.

“The biblical Magi (/ˈmædʒaɪ/ or /ˈmeɪdʒaɪ/; singular: magus; Greek: μάγοι, magoi), also referred to as the (Three) Wise Men or (Three) Kings, were, in the Gospel of Matthew and Christian tradition, a group of distinguished foreigners who visited Jesus after his birth, bearing gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.”

The Magi were of course Magicians and Jesus was a Magi or Magician. This is why he performed all kinds of magic tricks like raising people from the dead, walking on water, turning water into wine, feeding 5,000 with a couple of fish and loaves of bread you get the idea. That proved he was the son of God.

Jesus even had a “magic wand” for the first 300 years of Christianity…

Jesus was actually modeled on the Egyptian god Horus who was born of the Virgin Isis. They are portrayed the same in the iconography of the time. Horace was eventually merged with Ra the Egyptian sun god.

And in the middle of In the middle of St Peters Square in Vatican City you find a pagan Egyptian obelisk with pagan Zoroastrian zodiac signs. Go figure…

“The Obelisk from Egypt was brought to Rome by Emperor Caligula in 37 AD. It originally stood in his circus on a spot to the south of the basilica, close to the present Sacristy.

Sixtus V had Domenico Fontana move it in 1586 to the center of St. Peter’s Square

It is also a sun dial, its shadows mark noon over the signs of the zodiac in the white marble disks in the paving of the square. The obelisk rests upon four couchant lions, each with two bodies whose tails intertwine.”

Its ALL the same scam Louis. Amazing that people never read their bibles… a very nasty book written during times when human sacrifice was the norm to keep the sheeple in line. And remember Jahweh IS Baal the god who demands child sacrifice through the cleansing act of burning.

(Remember the story of Abraham being ordered to sacrifice his son Isaac on the alter on Mount Moriah where the temple was later built to God to show his love?)

But here is the BIG problem.

The Gods of the ancient religions in Asia, Europe and North America where all initially celestial gods that were created at the same time and modeled on the stunning and awe inspiring electrical discharge events in the skies which have always corresponded with deep solar minimum events.

That is an inescapable FACT which David Talbot is entirely correct about.

I can explain the the enigmatic global squatting man phenomenon and pretty much ALL of the electrical discharge artwork around the world including your Australian aboriginal rock art down to the spark in some cases.

It’s crazy ride and it’s pretty much all pictorial if you ever want to take it.

      • The seemingly straight forward chronology seems to suggest the official version has been repeated quite a few times, perhaps not intentionally, but histories fabricated by deluded scribes and what not, unfamiliar with objective concepts. A case of seeing only what they believe. The academics in OZ have fabricated Australian Aboriginal history, so the tradition continues in splendid, but delusional, glory. It’s the logical fallacy of the show of hands.

I’m in the Heinsohn camp and assume his seriously shortened chronologies, both ancient and modern, so that puts me at odds with other revisionists.

(* Major kudos for posting my response above by the way… you are clearly not a man afraid of a little controversy. Don’t let your wife see this next one lol!*)

        Totalitarian indeed!

Very simplified again but here goes…

As far as human nature goes however we originally had much in common with other primates. In gorilla and chimpanzee society we see the vestiges our own original hunter gatherer society roots. Small bands of 20 or so individuals with a dominant Alpha male who uses violence and threats of violence in order to achieve preferential access to resources and mates. The Alpha male is surrounded by a cadre of closely related male family members who help defend the ‘tribe’ and it’s resources from outside attack or displacement. Females gather together socially raising the Alpha male’s offspring communally and attempt to elevate their own social status among the other Alpha females where possible. Everybody has their place in the pecking order.

You can also see this structure clearly in the bible.

Here is the Glorious Kingdom of David and Solomon bible people love to fantasize about. Solomon was a very successful (and fictitious) King blessed by god with 700 wives, 300 concubines and palaces filled with gold and silver. He had a large army (police state) with a thousand chariots and as far as I can tell NOT a single callus on the man’s hands lol!

        Preferred access to resources…

1 Kings 10: 14 Now the weight of gold which came in to Solomon in one year was 666 talents of gold, (A talent of gold weighed about 75 pounds by the way so we are talking 49,950 pounds or just short of 25 tons. Love that 666 number by the way)

        Preferred access to mates…

1 Kings 11New International Version (NIV)
        Solomon’s Wives

11 King Solomon, however, loved many foreign women besides Pharaoh’s daughter—Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians and Hittites. 2 They were from nations about which the Lord had told the Israelites, “You must not intermarry with them, because they will surely turn your hearts after their gods.” Nevertheless, Solomon held fast to them in love. 3 He had seven hundred wives of royal birth and three hundred concubines, and his wives led him astray. 4 As Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after other gods, and his heart was not fully devoted to the Lord his God, as the heart of David his father had been. 5 He followed Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, and Molek the detestable god of the Ammonites. 6 So Solomon did evil in the eyes of the Lord; he did not follow the Lord completely, as David his father had done.

And a little violence for good measure to keep their god happy and the people terrified and kept in line…

7 On a hill east of Jerusalem, Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the detestable god of Moab, and for Molek the detestable god of the Ammonites. 8 He did the same for all his foreign wives, who burned incense and offered sacrifices to their gods.

So who is the God Molech Solomon built a temple to?

“Moloch (Masoretic מֹלֶךְ mōlek, Greek Μολόχ) is the Biblical name relating to a Canaanite god associated with child sacrifice. The name of this deity is also sometimes spelled Molech, Milcom, or Malcam. Rabbinical tradition depicted Moloch as a bronze statue heated with fire into which the victims were thrown. This has been associated with reports by Greco-Roman authors on the child sacrifices in Carthage to Baal Hammon,[1] ”
